About the Venue and its Location
Matosinhos is situated just 8 kilometres away from Porto’s city centre, making it easily accessible by public transportation, including buses and the metro. The area offers beautiful beaches, delicious seafood as well as a convenient location for visitors exploring the Porto region.
Also located in Matosinhos is the historic building of Casa do Ribeirinho, which dates back to the 18th century and has been an important part of the city’s heritage. The house has been inhabited by notable figures, including António Bernardo de Brito e Cunha, one of the ‘martyrs of liberty’, who is commemorated in the statue of D. Pedro IV in Porto.
Architecturally beautiful, Casa do Ribeirinho features various interior spaces (such as the English Room, Empire Room, Dining Room and Salon), an 18th century chapel and two gardens. The garden pavilion, constructed from glass, steel, iron and wood, blends traditional architecture from the Minho, further North of Portugal, with a more contemporary style.
